The route to safe maintenance – a practical workshop

Objective: This workshop will provide attendees with the line of attack to make certain a safe maintenance culture is developed in their workplace. Items to be covered comprise; consideration of the potential for harm, appropriate accident preventive measures and methods to guarantee that maintenance operations have not created further risks to workers and others, the implications for maintenance personnel of legislation... Ample opportunities will be available for questions , answers and clarification.

At the end of the workshop those present will have the ways to help reduce the number of people who are being hurt or experiencing ill health as a result of inadequate maintenance or lack of maintenance, now and in the future.

The European Agency for Health and Safety at Work Safe Maintenance Campaign 2010-11 will be presented including; raising awareness of the risks associated with maintenance activities, and that these risks have to be – and can be – managed. How to promote best safety practice in maintenance activities.
