Sessione: Asset Management Workshop - Expanding The Horizons Of Maintenance - Giovedμ 13 maggio 9.45 - 12.45 - sala Viola Chiudi

The EFNMS Asset Management Workshop.

Our physical assets are aging, competition is getting harder, products life-cycle is shortening, risks are increasing, turbulence in the business environment is becoming worse, pressure and need for more sustainable development is growing.
• Are we well prepared for the above
• Do we really understand that old ways to manage our assets are not sufficient any more
• Do we really understand how large economic values are in question
• We need new concepts, new kind of culture, new kind of tools and methods, data of better quality in order to manage this challenge
The general global problems especially in the capital intensive industry seem to be even over-capacity, low returns on investment and increase of turbulence. In the infrastructure sector the vital assets are aging and should be replaced in the optimal way taking into account environmental, economic and human risks. From the physical assets point of view, these requirements mean a need for a dynamic and continual life cycle management, optimal capacity development, improved investment planning, higher overall equipment effectiveness, higher reliability and flexibility of the physical assets, and lower maintenance costs of the equipment.

In the industrial and infrastructure sectors during the operating time of equipment numerous rebuilds, replacements and expansion investments take place. All of these decisions, together with the chosen maintenance strategies, affect the productivity of the physical capital and risks taken. In order to meet the challenge of low returns on investment enterprises need to create an asset management strategy, which is based on constructed and systematic decision making at all the levels of the corporate hierarchy.

In EFNMS asset management workshop we want
• to explore the approaches being used around the world in Asset Management
• to provide interactive sessions to promote discussion on Asset Management
• to discuss the benefits of adopting Asset Management models and standards
• to introduce the EFNMS Asset Management Committee and its work
